What is sunday morning football and how did it start? In the summer of 2003 ten kids from NT
high school decided to play football at 7 A.M. on a sunday morning. Dan Fritz, Cody Balling, Greg Jablonski, Steve Vollmer,
Bryan Gonyeau, Scott Miranto, Frank Vacanti, Mark Jaccarino, Dave Miller, and Mark Gilman played the first ever sunday morning
football game. After that day, a game was played weekly at 7 A.M on sundays. While adding several players such as Bob Heaps,
Steve Fretthold, Joe Langley, and Dan Keller, the teams grew and game after game was played until the end of fall. One reunion
game was played in the winter and the league was no more. After the winter passed a few games were played in the summer before
everyone went off to college. Then during winter break the league was reborn, with several old faces and several new. Players
like Mark Gilman, Frank Vacanti, and Steve Fretthold retired from the game. New people came to take their places. Joe Russell,
Matt Pacana and Rob Johnson were the new players of a new era. Several rookies have been added since then, and the game has
reached a whole new level. More and more talent is added each week, with more competetive games being played. Sunday morning
football is growing and becoming bigger than ever before.
